Plant it Up is a unique living hydroponic structure exploring the themes of vertical farming, botanical architecture and grow your own. It was an original commission for the National Festival of Making in Blackburn on the 8th & 9th July 2023
Plant it Up can allow people to grow their own in small but intensive way. Vertical farming allows us to grow at least five times more food in the same amount of space as conventional cultivation and actually uses 90% less water. It is an efficient way of utilising unused or redundant space to grow food.
