About us
UpPlant is a family-run small holding based enterprise in the South Pennines above Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, UK. Our pilot farm uses Aquaponic and vertical cultivation methods alongside small scale regenerative techniques to produce seasonal fruit and vegetables.
We use fish waste to feed our plants. In turn the plants clean the water for the fish, creating a closed and symbiotic system.
Our vertical tower system allows 5 times more plants to be cultivated in the same area as conventional '2 dimensional' growing.
We're cultivating tiger worms to cycle our waste and rebuild a healthy soil-food web. Some call this regenerative farming.
